Airbourne

Airbourne ist eine Rockband aus Australien, bestehend aus:

*Joel O'Keeffe (vocals/lead guitar)
* Ryan O'Keeffe (drum)
* David Roads (guitar)
* Justin Street (bass)

Ihre erste EP Ready To Rock erschien im Jahr 2004. Im Frühjahr 2005 verlegte die Band ihren Wohnsitz nach Melbourne. Gegen Ende 2005 erhielten Sie einen Plattenvertrag bei Capitol Records und spielten zusammen mit Mötley Crüe, Motörhead und The Rolling Stones, sowie im Sommer bei einigen Festivals in Europa. 2008 sind Sie bei Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Wacken Open Air sowie als Support von Die Toten Hosen auf der Machmalauter Tour zu sehen. 2009 spielen sie exklusiv auf dem Wacken Open Air.

Ihr erstes Album mit dem Titel Runnin' Wild wurde am 23. Juni 2007 in Australien veröffentlicht. Zwar wurde am 19. Februar 2007 der Plattenvertrag durch Capitol Records gekündigt, das Album aber durch Hilfe von EMI in Australien veröffentlicht. Heute besitzt die Band einen Vertrag mit Roadrunner Records für den Weltweiten Vertrieb.

Beim ARIA Awards wurde die Band nominiert 2007 in den Kategorien Best Rock Album und Breakthough Album of the Year für Runnin' Wild. Sie ging dabei allerdings leer aus.

Im März 2010 veröffentlichte die australische Band ihr zweites Studioalbum namens "No Guts, No Glory". Dieses Album reiht sich problemlos an das erste Werk der Band an und unterstreicht die berechtigte Forderung Airbournes der Nachfolger AC/DC's in Sachen Hard Rock aus Australien zu werden.

Ende März 2010 sind Airbourne für einige Konzerte in Deutschland zu sehen. Das Konzert in Köln am 21.03. wird aufgezeichnet und bei WDR Rockpalast ausgestrahlt.
